UNIVERSAL WONDERFUL STREET ACADEMY MARK'S 1O YEARS ANNIVERSARY

As part of efforts to prepare the minds of students to get back to school after almost a year's break owning to the outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus Disease leading to a complete close down of schools in the country, 

Nii Kwanchi II Noryaa Mantse (Development Chief) of Mantse Ankrah Royal family - Dadeban Naa Otublohum, who is also the founder of a Non- Governmental Organisation (NGO), Universal Wonderful Street Children Academy founded to support street children in Accra in the area of proving free education to these street children 


This year Marks the 10th anniversary of the NGO and as part of the activities for the celebrations, Nii Noryaa II organised a health walk with the children who walked through the principal streets of Jamestown in the Odododiodioo Constituency of greater Accra Region. The motive for the walk among other things was firstly to exercise the body and Secondary to create an awareness of the re-opening of Schools as well assuring parents of the safety of their children whiles they are back to School.

Another event which was organised for the anniversary was an inter community football gala. This event brought together eight (8) football teams drawn from the various communities within the Constituency . As the end of the gala, 'Korle we' emerged as overall champion, with 'Boko haram' and 'Sakomono Annex' coming up as 1st and second runners up respectively.


The first placed team took home a cash prize, medals plus a set of jerseys whiles the 1st and 2nd placed teams also took home cash prizes as well as medals.


In an interview with the media, the Development Leader disclosed that his organisation has since its inception supported well over 2000 street children who would have gone wayward whiles still on the streets of Jamestown.

"I love to see people especially children progress in life" Nii added.

He seized the opportunity to admonish the people of Jamestown and its environs to live in harmony and love each other.

The event ended with performance from some upcoming and popular musicians in and around the city of Accra and dramatic dance display from the students of Universal Wonderful Street Children Academy.
